Ray Wilson & Stiltskin, as well as Jamaram and Poparzeni Kawą Trzy has joined the line-up of Life Festival Oświęcim.
Ray Wilson headlined the first edition of LFO in 2010. In 2013 he is celebrating 20 years of his music career by a tournee called “20 Years And More”. At the final concert of LFO2013 at the MOSiR Stadium (June 29th) he will play songs from his whole career including Genesis period (1996-98). “It’s gonna be a real music feast” – says Wilson.
The same stage on June 28th will witness performances by Jamaram and Poparzeni Kawą Trzy. The former is one of the hottest live acts in Germany. Their music is a combination of reggae, dub, funk, soul, latin, swing, ska, pop and rock. PKT is a band established by journalists of major Polish media. They play humorous ska with lyrics about partying, love as well as important political and social issues.
The main star of LFO2013 is Sting. Among other artist are: Brodka, Perfect and Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
The building of Municipal Public Library was built on the basis of the winning design which Susul & Strama Architekci prepared for the national competition announced by the Town of Oświęcim along with the Associat
ion of Polish Architects - SARP in Krakow. The primary project issue was how to get a book to the average citizen. The architects decided that since the public likes to spend so much free time in shopping centres, why not try to design the library as a shopping centre and ‘call a spade a spade’ - The Book Centre.
A concert by legendary British artist, ex-leader and co-founder of cult band The Police, will be the highlight of the fourth edition of Life Festival Oswiecim. An author of hits such as „Roxanne”, „Every Breath You Take” or „Fragile” will come on stage of MOSiR Stadium on Saturday, 29th June.
The concert will be a part of „Back To Bass” tournee. This will be the first time during the tour when Sting will play in Poland at open air. This is also the first time that Sting accepted an invitation to any Polish festival. It is mainly because of the idea of LFO – promoting tolerance and peaceful co-existence of people representing different races, cultures, religions and nationalities. Sting is known by supporting various organizations defending human rights, e.g. Amnesty International – a partner of Life Festival Oswiecim.

This program was presented to their age mates from the Russian Volgograd via Internet. Teenagers from Oświęcim could also send regards to their Russian friends and see a program presented by them. This event in Oświęcim was coordinated by the Promotion Department of the City Hall and the meeting took place in the Wedding Hall of the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics
About 450 pupils from Oświęcim Primary School No 9 named after Peace Messengers created by themselves a shape of a dove of peace in the school playground. The symbolic dove is the dominant element of the logo of Oświęcim - the City of Peace. In this way, the pupils referred to the International Day of Peace celebrated on 21 September. Young Oświęcim citizens were preparing this event from a few days, practicing the setting in the shape of logo and doing hats referring to the color of the city logo.
Oświęcim Cultural Center invites you to participate in the 15th International Festival of Amateur Film "To Love a Man" which will take place from 26 to 28 January 2012 in Oświęcim Cultural Centre. The films, to participate in the competition, will be accepted until 15 December 2011.
“To love a Man” is ... a showing fleeting moments, fleeting time, running thoughts to they live their own lives. That these things will be eternal. That, despite everything that connects people and what people share, they can sketch a picture of the human condition. That they would show that what's important not only “here and now" but "always and everywhere”. That they show what will never pass away, so that we were, we are and we will be.
